Bit Protector - "Small Type"
Should be noted that BP Size Type on initial release is not consistent for every cycle of production or re-release. Being reproduced the following year could mean a different BP Size Type for a given Beyblade.
Attack Ring (AR)
DJ Spiker, ~18g.
First and only Beyblade to pay homage to Blader DJ, a mascot of the series. We couldn't play without him.
Despite being slightly underweight, DJ Spiker does have a noticeable amount of Smash Attack to it, which may come as a surprise since it has been largely ignored after release in most competitive settings.
DJ Spiker does not suffer incredibly from recoil, as many other lightweight early releases tend to, which is another nice surprise. Unfortunately it does not have enough weight and too much recoil to be used in a Defense or Stamina set up.
Relative to all possible options, DJ Spiker is a middle of the road Attack AR, but it should be noted it, for some reason, works just fine in left-spin where its primary contact point is the plastic Wyvern head. Not completely abysmal, though it is a clear step below the likes of Metal Upper or Jiraiya Blade.
Best Possible Combo:
AR: DJ Spiker (Either Spin)
WD: CWD Defense Ring (with Metal CWD found in RBA2)
RC: Grip Flat Core (Ultimate Version)
Game Plan: Same as any other standard Attack type, knock out the opposing Beyblade or hit it so frequently or hard that it can no longer spin. In DJ Spiker's case, you will have a hard time knocking out specialized Defense types, but may have a decent chance against Stamina types or high recoil opponent combos in general. As usual, launching with the Sliding/Catapult or Banking techniques will give you the best odds of meeting your win condition. GFCUV is recommended here because DJ Spiker lacks the required speed to produce meaningful hits otherwise.
Weight Disk (WD)
Circle Balance
See the Common Weight Disks page.
CWD Free Saucer, ~17g.
Just shy of 2g alone, this CWD is one of the more obscure in the series.
Noticeably large diameter, nearing the edge of Circle Upper's Metal Frame. Weighs in at a solid 2g, marginally heavier than Thunder Dragon's other CWD option.
Suffers a similar fate as CWD Free Survivor, CWD Reverse Defenser does anything you'd want Free Saucer to do for Defense as well as Stamina.
Likely the best place to use it, if not as an alternative for CWD Reverse Defenser on Stamina combos, is with Attack types.
Decent weight, still managing to have a small enough diameter to not hinder Circle Upper and Samurai Upper, both very useful traits. CWD Defense Ring may be preferred for its fixed design, but Free Saucer isn't really far behind.
Best Possible Combo:
AR: Samurai Upper (Right-Spin)
WD: CWD Free Saucer (with Metal CWD found in RBA2)
RC: Grip Flat Core (Ultimate Version)
Game Plan: Knock things out of the exits, simple as that. Free Saucer gives you marginally more weight (0.04g) and similar enough performance to CWD Defense Ring that you can't make a case to not use it if you want to. It is a fair alternative.
Circle Balance: comes with Wyvern DJ's general releases
Free Saucer (green colour, not pictured): comes with Wyvern DJ's Secret RB1 release
Running Core (RC)
Metal Sharp Core, ~4g.
Rather tall RC that seems to have been made to check the box of "Metal" and "Sharp" together.
Suffers greatly from balance issues, and it is incredibly common to have any and all setups on this RC rattle, not because there is give between the WD and RC, but because Metal Sharp is so unstable it is constantly shaking while spinning on the stadium.
If it were more stable it could potentially have been run in a Turtle Crusher combo that relied on destabilizing to out-spin or possibly scoring knock outs, a la Plastics' FACB set ups.
Truthfully, it is likely the one part that has the least redeeming qualities of any of the HMS RCs, which is heart-breaking as well as a shock, since Draciel MS' AR exists.
Best Potential Combo:
AR: Circle Upper (Either Spin)
WD: Circle Heavy
RC: Metal Sharp Core
Game Plan: Cross your fingers and hope Circle Upper can knock out whatever you're facing. Circle Wide is another possible option, along with a heavy CWD like CWD God Ring, I wouldn't say any of them add any significant value to this combo, and it is strictly relying on Circle Upper.
